Terms of Service

These terms govern your purchase and use of House Portraits. By placing an order you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't order — and do drop us a line to tell us why.

1. Who we are

2. The service

We generate a stylised portrait of your home from a photo you upload, then print and ship it to you via a print-on-demand partner. Each portrait is generated by an AI model and lightly post-processed for print resolution. You see and approve a digital proof before anything goes to print.

3. Your photo

You confirm that the photo you upload is of a property you own, or that you otherwise have the right to upload and have rendered as artwork. You retain copyright in your original photo. We do not claim any ownership of it.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the photo solely for the purpose of producing your portrait, including transmitting it to our generation, upscaling, and print partners.

4. The artwork we generate

We grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use the generated portrait for personal, non-commercial use — display in your home, share with friends, post to social media. Commercial reproduction, resale, or use as merchandise requires our written permission.

5. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown in your local currency at checkout and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Orders are charged in full at checkout.

6. Approval and printing

After payment we email you a proof. Your portrait is only sent to print after you click Approve. If you'd like changes, reply to the proof email and we'll work with you on a revision. Once approved, printing typically begins within 24 hours.

7. Shipping and delivery

We ship worldwide via our print partner. Delivery times depend on destination — typically 3–7 business days from approval. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. Customs duties, where applicable, are your responsibility.

8. Refunds and returns

See our refund policy for the full picture. In short: if your portrait arrives damaged or materially different from your approved proof, we'll reprint it or refund it. Because each portrait is made to order, we cannot accept returns simply because you changed your mind after approval.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to upload photos containing sexual, violent, hateful, or otherwise unlawful content, or content depicting third parties in a way that infringes their rights. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order that breaches this clause and refund the customer.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Subject to that, our total liability for any single order is capped at the amount you paid for that order.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised last updated date. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION]. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of [JURISDICTION], without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
